As an artist, I always want the right customer to value & purchase my pieces. Here are some do's and don'ts to consider when making a purchase.
✔️ DO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR WHEN YOU CHOOSE
When you are purchasing your piece, you are not only paying for the piece itself, but years of work that lead to that piece; as well as the hours of weaving by hand that went into the piece, plus the cost of materials. My pieces are not mass produced, so each one is unique, and lovingly crafted. The price is reflected in the effort I put in.
✔️ DO THINK ABOUT WHETHER YOUR CHOCIE ALIGNS TO YOUR VALUES
I strive to use sustainable and natural fair trade materials, sourced locally where possible, which include cotton, wool and jute. I also use recycled materials like polyester, rope and plastic string. I value sustainability and reducing, reusing and recycling. All of my left over yarn goes back into my works, not into landfill. If these values align with yours, you are making a purchase you will be morally and ethically happy with.
✔️ DO CONSIDER IF A PIECE WILL COMPLEMENT YOUR STYLE AND HOME
While I have created some neutral pieces, the majority of my works are not for the faint hearted! As they are inspired by nature, they can be bold and bright.
They are more suited to those who love the colours of nature, who want a statement piece and/or those who have colourful boho homes.
I also have a couple of unique pieces for those who appreciate quirky and weird art.
I have used natural light to take my photos where possible, so that the unedited colours in warm daylight are shown.
However, please note, that if you have a particularly dark house or cool lighting (white) the piece will appear different when placed in your home, than is displayed on screen.
Seasonal changes also mean that the product will appear different, for example, in Winter your product will appear cooler and less warm than it would in Summer.
✔️ DO LOOK AT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS WHEN YOU PURCHASE
Please be sure to read my terms and conditions before purchasing a product to save yourself both time and energy, and to know where you stand.
✔️ DON’T ALWAYS BUY THE CHEAPEST PIECE
It can be tempting to go for the cheapest piece, but I recommend that you take your time and purchase a product that speaks to you, not your wallet. I have a range of prices, so that everyone can find something that they would welcome into their home and fit their budget.
I also have a range of payment options, so if you fall in love with a piece that is of a higher price range, you can use services like afterpay to get in and get your vessel/tapestry before someone else does!
✔️ DON’T BUY UNDER PRESSURE
Don't feel pressured to buy a piece. I know a few artists like to use marketing ploys to apply pressure to their customers, but I want you to take your time and buy a piece that speaks to you and your style, a piece that will be in your home for the long run.
If you have an idea for a piece, I will be taking commissions soon, so keep an eye out!
❌ DON’T LEAVE IT IF YOU REALLY LOVE IT
As most of my work is unique and one of a kind, it can sell out quickly. If you would like to know when a new collection or piece is about to drop, follow me on social media.
